Whitewood Specification
Whitewood also known as European silver pine, silver fir or Norway spruce, originates from Europe, it's latin name is Picea abies and is part of the Pinaceae family. The timber grades to C16 and is non durable but it responds well to all preservatives. Whitewood is very versatile and is used in many industries.
This timber varies from almost white to pale yellowish-brown with a natural lustre. It dries rapidly with little tendency for splitting.
Whitewoods main uses include, general joinery, furniture, flooring, staircases and construction.
