Azobe
Ekki/Azobe comes from the Ochnaceae family, it is also known by its Latin name of Lophira Alata and it originates from West Africa. Ekki is graded to D70, which makes it a very durable timber with a high resistance to shock loads and decay. The colour of Ekki varies from a dark red to chocolate brown, it has an interlocked grain with a coarse and uneven texture.
The main uses of Ekki include marine construction, sleepers, heavy construction, heavy duty flooring, bridge decks, wheel timbers, bog mats, waybeams and decking.

Ekki is an extremely hard and dense marine timber. Ekki timber, as with other marine timbers is an extremely difficult timber to work with. However with our dedicated sawmills, we can machine cut Ekki timber to suit your specifications and requirements, allowing you to receive the exact product you require.
Our Ekki timber is supplied with an independently audited, full chain of custody, from forest to site. Ekki can be supplied FSC certified or EUTR compliant.
